Two publications on St. Petersburg will be published in April 2003 as a part of the British program for St. Petersburg tercentennial. One is entitled St. Petersburg Perspectives and includes six essays and two short stories about St. Petersburg by leading Russian and Western authors. Among those contributing to the publication are Alexander Kushner, the most famous living St. Petersburg poet, and Orlando Figes, a historian. Yuri Molodkovets, one of the leading photographers of the State Hermitage, contributed illustrations.
The other publication, entitled Britain and Russia 2003 will be distributed at all high level events and festivities in the UK and Russia in 2003. This publication is an important initiative of Her Majesty’s Cabinet for St. Petersburg tercentennial and in commemoration of 450 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
