Leningrad – Venice – New-York” to be opened on April 11![]() Yalov Gordin, the editor-in-chief of Zvezda Magazine compared the exhibition to the materialized biography of the poet. Brodsky asked his friends and relatives not to work on his biography, and though 7 years passed after his death, his biography has not been created yet. Poet’s widow, Maria Brodskaya, has also made a contributed to organizing the exhibition. She has kindly donated photographs, manuscripts and some of the personal belongings from her husband’s study in South Hadley, Massachusetts. In particular, those who come to the exhibition will have a chance to see for the first time poet’s photographs made in his favorite city – Venice. Unfortunately, the exhibition will not be held in the Brodsky Museum, which has not been established yet in our city. According to the words of Nina Popova, the Akhmatova Museum director, “one and a half” rooms in the Muruzi house, where the poet lived with his parents, have already been bought. At the moment Alfa Bank representatives are discussing the possibility of buying the remaining three rooms in the communal apartment.
