Sergey Kurekhin Today, on April 24, SKIF-7, VII Sergey Kurekhin International Festival opens in the Leningrad Palace of Youth.

In the jubilee year, the festival will surprise its audience by unprecedented diversity of the program: during the four days about 100 bands from 20 countries will perform at different stages of the city. Dutch experimental band Staalplaat Soundsystem will perform at SKIF-7. The musicians compose their works of sounds, produced by household gadgets: vacuum cleaners, dishwashers.

Classical Iranian music, played by the leading musicians of Teheran Conservatoire, ancient vocal music of Sardinia, performed by the Italian quartette Tenores de Bitti, kapoero show by Brazilian Kapoero Show Group are also included in the program.

Program of the greatest Milan festival DELLA MUSICA will be presented as a part of cultural exchange project.

The fesival is rapidly acquiring international recognition. In June the part of its program will be shown in Milan. The Russian-German festival, organized by SKIF and Berlin KULTURBRAUEREI Center and funded by Russian and German Ministries of Culture, will take place in Berlin.
