The exhibition of the works of modern theatre artists in Rumyantsevís private residence

One of Akimov's sketches The exhibition of the works of modern theatre artists from the funds of the Theatre library "I am the creator of my worlds" will open in Rumyantsevís private residence on December 22. For two and a half centuries of its existence the Theatre library has collected in its funds more than 20 thousand original works of theatre artists made for dramatic, opera and ballet plays; films, television performance and variete programs.

The exhibition calls your attention to the incomes of the latest 12 years. These are works of N. Akimov, S. Virsaladze, M. Azizyan, T. Bruny, M, Kitaev, E, Kochergin, S. Yunovich and many others. Most of the materials are exhibited for the first time.

For a more volumetric idea about Saint Petersburg theatre artists the exhibition includes posters, theatre programs, stage dresses, photos from archival fund of the Theatre library.

The theatre painting has its particular features. A picture on decorations, which sometimes seems roughly painty in examining closely, looks incredibly pictorial, exquisite and wonderful in the footlights. A success of the scenic performance depends on the theatre artistís work, his taste and culture. The artists organizes the space of the play and gives breath to it with hands and heart.

The exhibition will be on display till February 22.
