This is the fifth New British Film Festival organised by British Council Russia. Russian audiences have already had a chance to see some of the best recent British films including "BAFTA" and "Oscar" prize-winners. "The Magdalene Sisters", "24 Hour Party People", "All or Nothing", "Billy Elliot", "Snatch", "Time Code", "Sexy Beast", "Bloody Sunday" and others were all very well-received.
The festival will be a part of the British Council’s 70th anniversary programme this year. Together with annual events — such as the New British Film Festival in April/May or the Education UK Exhibition in September — the jubileum programme will include exclusive anniversary events.
Such films as Calendar Girls (2003), Anita & Me (2002), Bodysong (2003), One for the Road (2003), Afterlife (2003), Pure (2002), In This World (2002) and others will be shown as part of the festival program.
