The new head of the city's culture committee, Nikolai Burov, wants to change the attitude of bureaucrats in the cultural sector, Interfax reported Tuesday.
"Over time, I want to change the way the culture committee works, to influence the manners of the St. Petersburg bureaucrat - to promote my colleagues to serve the artists," Burov was quoted as saying.
His priorities are to modernize libraries, boost security for children attending artistic and musical schools and to form a development concept for the city's Leningrad Zoo, the report said.
