2nd Chinese festival in St. Petersburg

The 1st Chinese festival took place in St. Petersburg in 2006, in the framework of the year of Russia in China. This year is proclaimed the year of China in Russia and this is going to be marked with celebration of Beijing city days, an exhibition of a Beijing museum in the Hermitage, and organization of a special Chinese wedding ceremony. The first event of the year was a Chinese festival at the Neva River.

The deputy of the general council of China marks that the relationship of the two countries is very productive, and the festival will strengthen it. There are 3.5 thousand Chinese students studying in St. Petersburg, which is more than from any other country. Every third student in Petersburg is Chinese. More than 200 thousand Chinese tourists come to the city annually. More than 70 Chinese restaurants, firms, medical and sports centres participate in the festival.
