The National Museum of Iran (NMI) and the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg will sign an agreement in a few weeks, Iranian cultural attaché in Russia announced on Monday.
The two museums’ officials plan to boost cooperation particularly joint research on museums and organization of exhibits in other countries, Mehdi Imani added.
The agreement is in line with a contract the two sides will sign late March to expand cooperation in the tourism sector.
Imani noted that such measures help strengthen tourist cooperation between Iran and Russia.
Negotiations are underway to hold an exhibition of Iran’s tourist attractions for Russians who are not familiar with the Iranian industry very much, he stated.
Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicraft Organization (CHTHO) also plans to invite staff of Russian magazine “Around the World” to travel to Iran to provide photos and articles and publish in the magazine.
The magazine has a circulation of 27,000 copies and is regarded as one of the most famous journals on tourism in Russia.
