The 300 anniversary of the Poltava Battle celebration will be held in St. Petersburg (program)

poltava_battle In St. Petersburg, July 10, will be held the festival dedicated to 300 anniversary of the victory of Russian troops in the Poltava Battle.

Venue for the festival is the Sampsonievsky Cathedral (Grand Ave Sampsonievsky, 41), Sampsonievsky Prospect Street Grenadier and Fokine.

The festival, dedicated to 300 anniversary of the victory of Russian troops in the Battle of Poltava, will begin from the Solemn liturgy in the Sampsonievsky Cathedral(9.00 - 12.00).

At 12.00 the leaders of the city will congratulate citizens and open up the central part of the festivities - a military parade, show the birth of modern Russian army troops and students of military schools with the LenVO orchestra.

During the day, guests could also hear the perfomance of synthesis Academic Capella Choir and Chamber Choir of Smolny Cathedral, to visit the "Master's City" art exhibition, to attend the historical costumes review of Russian and Swedish troops fom the Peter the Great's era.

The solemn salute-illumination will complete the celebration on the Pervostroiteley square, near the Sampsonievsky Cathedral at 08.00PM.

FESTIVAL PROGRAM

9.00 - 12.00 - Solemn Liturgy of Sampsonievsky Cathedral

12.10 - greetings city leaders and officials on the occasion of inauguration of the festival.

12.20 - start of a military parade, despite the birth of modern Russian army troops and students of military academies. LenVo orchestra will take part in the parade.

12.40 - 01.10 pm - concerto of the consolidated Academic Capella Choir and Chamber Choir of Smolny Cathedral.

02.00 pm - moving into the holiday park at Sampsonievsky Cathedral.

02.00 - 06.30pm - "Master's City" art exhibition.

14.00 - 15.00 - see the historical costumes of troops of Russian and Swedish armies of Peter the Great's era: the infantry, dragoon, cavalry, officers, musicians: flutist, drummers, timpanists.

17.00 - start of the concert program.

20.00 - celebratory fireworks in honor to 300 anniversary of the victory in the Poltava Battle.
