Reproduction of the famous Kindzhi painting, named "Rainbow"will be placed today on the 6 Griboedova canal in St. Petersburg.
That is one of the projects of Russian Museum. Copies of paintings from its collection will appear on the walls of buildings from Nevsky Prospect to the Savior on the Blood. That's why the action was called "The Museum Mile".
The first of such experiments was carried out on Russia Day, June 12, 2009. The copies of Vasnetsov, Repin, Kustodiev and other Russian artists were placed on billboards in the city center.
Kuindzhi Arkhip Ivanovich - the famous Russian landscape painter, was born January 15, 1841. He was studied by Aivazovsky and at the Academy of Arts for a short time, where received the title of the 1 degree artist.
