Exhibition of Recent Archaeological Finds of Petersburg Opens in Moscow

Archaeological Finds of Okhta Cape

The Dmitry Sakharov Museum has opened the exhibition Archaeological Finds of Okhta Cape dedicated to the results of excavation at the site of would-be skyscraper Okhta-Center in St. Petersburg.
In the course of excavation works experts of Northwest Scientific Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage and Institute of History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences have found out settlements of ancient people of the 4th – 2nd millennia B.C., as well as fortified constructions: a medieval cusp settlement of the 13th century, the Swedish fortresses Landskrona (13th century) and Nyenschantz (17th century) and a cemetery of the Russian Settlement Nevskoe Ustye (15th – 16th centuries).
The exhibition runs till January, 30th, 2011 in the exposition hall of the Sakharov Museum.
