STEREOLETO 2014

STEREOLETO (which means “StereoSummer” in Russian) is an international annual summer festival in Saint Petersburg. It could be easily compared with the major European festivals like Primavera Sound, Flow, Oya Festval or Le Printemps de Bourges, because of its unforgettable atmosphere, perfect music content and excellent reputation established over the years of existence of the festival. The Festival has been repeatedly awarded to be “The event of the year” and “The Festival of the year” by local mass-media (Billboard, TimeOut Saint-Petersburg, etc.) and has won a lot of professional awards.
Started out in 2002 with a huge success, it turned out to be an entirely new form of an event - so called urban open-air that takes place in the most spectacular areas of the city. STEREOLETO is a pioneer among the open-air music festivals in Russia. Each year STEREOLETO consists of several events that are carried out in the most beautiful and picturesque spots in the central part of the city. The second year in a row STEREOLETO was held in the historical park area on Elagin Island.
STEREOLETO managed to gain a sensational status of the foremost and the most trendy local summer event and it still remains the only event of it’s kind in the second largest city in Russia. The event stages present a handpicked selection of the most interesting, fresh and forward thinking music. Since 2002 to 2013 STEREOLETO played host for more than a 300 live concerts.Among our participants were: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Massive Attack, La Roux, Regina Spektor, Royksopp, Kid Koala (with his newest live-show 12 Bit Blues Vinyl Vaudeville Show 2.0), AIR, Ladytron, Gus Gus, Future Sound Of London, Asian Dub Foundation, David Byrne, Morcheeba, Sparks, Sebastian Tellier, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti and many others. Aside from the world-famous artists STEREOLETO also presents the most promising young Russian live acts to a big audience. Every year there’re several music stages at the festival area which number depends from 2 to 3.
STEREOLETO is designed to be a festival friendly to everyone. There’re lots of entertainments for people of all ages, including children. Areas of the festival are always equipped with the playground zones offering a large variety of activities for children – sports, games and workshops. In addition to music there are many event features as visual arts, design and variable cuisines available for all guests of the festival.
