On May 27 I passed a memorial evening of the Petersburg composer Andrey Petrov in BKZ "October". It is symbolical that a concert of the most Petersburg composers to which this year, 85 years would be executed, takes place in Birthday of St. Petersburg - after all all creativity of the People's Artist Andrey Pavlovich Petrov is anyway devoted to the great city on Neva.
The vice governor of St. Petersburg, Vladimir Kirillov handled welcome speech to admirers of talent of the composer. In the performance, he congratulated the audience on the City Day, thanked the spouse composer Natalya Efimovna for many-sided activities for preservation of light memory of Andrey Petrov, and also noted that the whole generations of Russians grew on Andrey Petrov's songs, remember them, know by heart and with pleasure sing in chorus.
"The bright representative of the Russian creative intellectuals was included into the ontology of domestic musical art as the composer working in different genres. But national love Andrey Petrov deserved as the founder of unforgettable songs and melodies of the most popular Soviet movies", - Vladimir Kirillov told.
In the hall BKZ "October" there was no empty seat. The evening passed in the warm and friendly atmosphere and became the real decoration of the birthday of the city.
