The first Saturday of July in St. Petersburg is traditionally devoted to Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The holiday in honour of the writer is arranged since 2010 and every time surprise citizens. This year "emphasis" on the anniversary novel by the writer - 150 years to the "Crime and punishment ".
- At 13.00 on Manezhnaya Square it will be possible to watch the screen version of this novel, which was made in 2007 by the director Dmitry Svetozarov, - said in Committee on culture. - And in a show-window of the Bukvoyed bookstore on the Nevsky, 46 everyone will be able to take part in "national reading" the first edition of the "Crime and punishment ", to depict itself (himself) among characters of this novel and to receive a rare anniversary card.
In the centre of St. Petersburg, meanwhile, will drive the excursions devoted to the writer, and at 14.00 to the Nevsky, Small Konyushennuyu and Manezhnaya Square there will be writers and literary heroes.
In the evening, at 18.00 on Manezhnaya Square will show a performance of "At the beginning of July, in Extremely Hot Time…" FMD-theatre. The Billy's Band group will take part in it.
