In St. Petersburg the international festival of the ballet Dance Open has opened

The fifteenth International festival of the ballet Dance Open will take place in St. Petersburg from April 16 to April 25, organizers report.
The festival will take place on the main scene of Alexandrinsky Theatre. "An intense search of meanings is chosen as a keynote of an anniversary festival: actual modern choreography – rebellious, disturbing, taking out on a scene naked soul of the hero of a new century" — it is said in the message.
The first performance of a festival will take place on April 16. One of the oldest tropes of Europe – the ballet of the Vienna state opera (Wiener Staatsballett) – will submit the unique program created exclusively for Dance Open. Two evenings of the festival program (on April 18 and 19) will be devoted to Romeo and Juliette's immortal tragedy. One of the best world statements of the ballet of the same name on Sergey Prokofiev's music in a year of his 125 anniversary will be presented troupe of the Perm theatre and soloists of the Royal ballet of Convent Garden. "The lightest, majestic and sad story of love in choreographic interpretation of Sir Kenneth Macmillan will bewitch the viewer dancing abundance and luxury of authentic Renaissance suits and scenery. For execution of the main parties soloists from Kovent Garden's Theatre – Mathew Golding (Romeo) and Gary Evis (Tibald) are invited. Juliette's role will be played by the prima ballerina Kovent Garden Sara Lamb" — organizers note.
On the twenty first of April premier display of the program which is specially prepared by a ballet troupe of the Dresden opera of Zemper (Semperoper Ballett Dresden) will take place. Resonant mini-extraordinary of the European choreography from Alexey Ratmansky, Pontus Lidberg and Alexander Ekman will be presented to the St. Petersburg public. On the twenty third of April the Ballet of Maribor (Ballet of Slovene National Theatre Maribor) headed by the choreographer Edward Klyug will present to a fantasy version "Per Gyunt". The main part in the ballet will be performed by Denis Matviyenko.
Gala concert will take place on April 25. In the program stars of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Maryinsky Theater, the Norwegian Ballet, the Bavarian Opera, the leading soloists of ballet troupes of Vienna, Zurich, Berlin, San Francisco, Stuttgart and others are declared.
Within a festival there will take place the exhibition "Sergey Prokofiev. The anthem of Love" where exhibits from funds of the State central theatrical museum of Bakhrushin and the Perm academic opera and ballet theatre of Tchaikovsky will be presented. Also in the days of a festival there will take place, dancing master classes and open professional discussions, and for students of ballet schools of the world the international educational program will be organized. Among teachers of master classes there are leading soloists of the ballet with a world name, teachers-tutors of the Maryinsky Theater, Vaganova Ballet Academy. The international educational program will come to the end on April 24 with reporting gala concert of young stars on a scene of Hermitage theatre.
