I am very proud to introduce you ‘PetersburgCity Style’ – the only source about Petersburg fashion - in English! Find more about fashion as it is seen from Russia.
Style is an international magazine. If you prefer to read about fashion in English go to www.PetersburgCity.com/style.
Today Russian designers, stylists and models became widely known all around the world. And there are more to be discovered. They tend toward austere, complex cuts and monochromatic patterns.
Tatyana Parfyonova creates collections in a single colour, uses embroidery, silk-screens and knits.
Tatyana Kotegova also uses natural materials: silk, cashmere, wool, crepe-satin, flax and mohair. In her collections she combines masculine harshness and elemental minimalism with feminine purity and explosive modesty. Her colours are white, brown, gray and black. Some feel that Kotegova reflects the idea of Petersburg style.
Vladimir Bukhinnik is enfant terrible of Petersburg fashion. He is sunny and joyful designer with a preference for lively lines and the archly shoking. Brian Eno, the ever-hip English musician, has a bright velvet jacket done by Bukhinnik, providing the couturier with a living advertisement.
Lilia Kisselenko works with classical silhouettes, combining the daring of youth culture a la Prada with certain Japanese transparency of lines, transferring austere cuts to modern materials: a long coat without a single clasp or checked blouses of etched velvet. Her collections are fresh and appropriate for any age.
Petersburg designers differ from other Russian fashion houses.
