Music Hall theatre shows combine various forms of scenic art from beautiful songs and dances to extra class acrobatics.
The group was formed in 1966 on the initiative of the famous Russian stage director of drama theater and variety Ilya Rakhlin. The first show There's No One Better Than You staged in 1967 was well received not only in Russia but abroad as well. During the second year of the young theater’s life it was invited to Paris for the opening of the famous Olimpic Concert Hall. Performing on the stage of the best variety hall in the world is the highest evaluation of the skills of the actors from the Neva banks. During its 34 years the theater visited more than 50 countries. USA, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Australia, China, Japan and other countries enthusiastically applauded the Russian actors. Foreign press wrote: “The Music Hall is an incredible group. Their technique is amazing and universal. The singers are great. All the participants of the dance group can be a decoration of any western music hall because of their beauty, amazing elegance, incredible technique and unusual program”.
To bring people joy, fun, laughter – that’s how the actors and the permanent leader of the theater Ilya Rakhlin understand their task. Generous fantasy, originality, ability to create an integral and exciting show are natural to Rakhlin’s directing.
The Music Hall shows have their own style. The ballet group has genre flexibility combined with high class mastery. They have equal command of both dances based on folklore motives and modern rhythms compositions.
Each premiere demonstrates high technique and ballet perfection, vocal skills and exceptional talent of the original genre performers.
That’s why every year the group is invited to this or that country, that’s why during a recent tour in Japan the press wrote: “Troupe from St Petersburg, famous for their inimitable tempo, rhythm and harmony of motion, managed to create their own style, skillfully combining Russian folk art with the best examples of European and American art”.
