Petersburg programmers have the largest number of contracts with West companies. About 300 companies dealing with programming work in the North Capital. Among them there are several tens of large companies, where several tens and even hundreds employees work. These largest companies, which accumulate about 4000 programmers work mostly for western orders.
90% works of these 4 thousand programmers are western orders. The total volume of western orders in Russia counts about $240m a year. The major part of the orders are placed in St. Petersburg. To compare: India, which started development of programming 10 years earlier than Russian, is leading in this field and has annual orders worth $6 billion.
